The following are not just core commitments at Roxbury but, by the grace of God, goals to mold our lives around. We are not perfect, but we are passionate about Christ to these ends.
We will search for the activity of God and pursue it. The bottom
line to every question will be “Is this God’s desire?”
- Reaching
lost people is God’s main desire. Therefore,
everything will be organized with that central purpose.
- We
will undergird everything with prayer and intend towalk by faith
and not by sight.
- All matters will be measured against the Scriptures. Biblical
doctrine is not negotiable; methods will be constantly evaluated.
We will submit ourselves to constant adjustment that allows for
growth. We cannot get overly comfortable.
- We see the church as a hospital for
sinners; therefore, an attitude and atmosphere of grace will
abound.
- Challenges will be
dealt with and not ignored. Criticism, murmuring and slander will not be allowed to disrupt the fellowship
of the Lord’s church.
- We seek to serve diligently, efficiently
and effectively.
- We are an elder-guided, staff-driven church. Pastor
and staffwill be allowed to initiate and lead with trust, support
and prayers of the church.
- Our church family seeks to strengthen individual
family.
- We will plan for and work to nurture life through deep Christian relationships. We seek to help each Christian discover their gifts, passion and ministry.
