Our History & Heritage
Roxbury Road Church of Christ was first formed in 1952. Founding members first met in a rented room in a local YMCA building in Janesville, Wisconsin. In 1954, the church purchased another building in downtown Janesville, and that site remained it’s home until 1963. At that time the church relocated into a newly constructed building on Roxbury Road in Janesville. The Roxbury Road site has experienced expansion through a major auditorium addition in 1986, and through the addition of a multi-purpose room in 1995. Further growth was seen through the remodeling of the former church parsonage into a new church office complex in 2001.
Roxbury Road Church of Christ’s historical heritage stems from that of the Restoration Movement. Roxbury is a non-denominational Independent Church of Christ/Christian Church.
